Christ Church Regatta

Well, it's been and gone.

Christchurch regatta is always worth a look. For those that may not know, it is the novice only regatta run towards the end of first (Michaelmas) term in Oxford every year. Generally people arrive in Oxford at the start of October with no rowing experience. (I hadn't even seen the Boat Race.) The regatta is at the end of November. The two months in between see the moulding of these willing new victims into oarsmen and women that will hopefully go on to represent the college senior boats, or even the university, in months or years to come. That sounds pretty grand.. In real life, you get everything from crews that would give some second eights about a very good run for their money to crews that are happy to stay afloat for the 800m length of the course.

Most importantly, it was GREAT fun. Although we didn't win, we got some races in. Results coming ASAP
