Bumped LMH before coming into the Gut. A bit of a nervous row, but it
was the first day. Jesus chasing us never got close, but comfortably
got the overbump on LMH.(Well done Chris, bow on stern bump.) |
Rowed over. LMH ahead soon bumped out on Christ Church and
Brasenose didn't challenge to hard, leaving us paddling confortably
over the course. |
Aarrgghh. We were chasing St. Anthony's, chased by
Sommerville. Anthony's bump hard on Oriel V and stop. We can't avoid
Anthony's and get caught up. Sommerville hit us and the dividion is
stopped. OURC's in their wisdom then bumped us 4 places, fined us 50
quid and gave our cox a dangerous coxing warning. mmm.. I think I'll
exercise restraint here. |
| Thursday |
Bumped St. Peters going into the gut. (Almost exactly the same
place as on Wednesday.) Jesus got the overbump on Peters. No
problems. |
Bumped Christchurch. Lincoln got close, but we got Christchurch
before they got too threatening. Lincoln failed to get them on the
overbump. |
Bumped Lincoln III, who then bumped Oriel V. Up 2 places. Not
bad. |
| Friday |
Bumped Balliol. Furthest we had to row so far. Got all the way
through the gut and almost onto the GreenBank. Hard work. Good bump
though. Nerves start going now. A bump tomorrow and it's blades. Well
done Jesus, another overbump. |
Got Pembroke fairly quickly. No probs. Ch. Ch. were never
challenging. Good bump, excellent stuff. |
Well.. bumped by Sommerville II, but got Corpus II. So we sort of
stayed in the same place. |
| Saturday |
BLADES.. St. Johns, before the gut. Get me a beer now. |
Got Somerville.. er then sank. Somerville crabbed and blocked the
river. We hit them, Lincoln hit us, Pembroke hit
them.. mmmm... damage. Our boat looks pretty terminally damaged. Still
no injuries and we got the bump. |
Rowed over. Long way to the head. Wish we ate less pies during term
time..! |
