Leigh N. Fletcher

Welcome to my personal homepage, where you’ll find links and information about planetary science research in this solar system and beyond.  I’m currently a Royal Society Research Fellow at the University of Oxford

I work with an international team of scientists studying the formation, atmospheric composition, dynamics, meteorology and chemistry of the gas giants:  Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune, and the growing number of giant planets around other stars in our galaxy.

In these pages you’ll find details of the ground-based observing facilities, Earth-orbiting telescopes and interplanetary space probes (Voyager, Galileo, New Horizons, Cassini, Juno and the upcoming Europa-Jupiter mission) which contribute to our growing understanding of our neighbours in the solar system.

You can also follow live updates on my research on Twitter (@LeighFletcher) or by reading my blog.
